Boomshaka Treks to Bourne!

Spring break is finally upon us, and that means that Boomshaka’s Tour has just begun! 

On Friday afternoon, 13 of the 18 Boomshaka members attending tour descended upon Cleveland, Ohio, where they sought refuge at the Red Roof Inn. Three brave souls–Jasmin, Clayton, and Jonathan–graciously accepted the task of leading the near 6-hour drive from Evanston. 

After an invigorating sleep at our favorite motel, Boomshaka headed out bright early and began the rest of the trek to Bourne, Massachusetts. Approximately 12 hours later, cars started flowing in, arriving at the not-so infamous AirBNB, colloquially known as The Manor™.  

The first car to arrive held Olivia, Clayton, Isaac, and Madeline, and at arrival, they were greeted by Emma, who had driven down from her hometown of Plympton, MA. After exploring what sights the Manor beheld, the crew (minus Madeline, who held down the fort and waited for other arrivals), returned to the road in search of sustenance and nutrients to hold us over for the week. They journeyed to the only wholesaler in southeast Massachusetts: BJ’s. 

While Grocery Crew was out on the town, Jasmin’s car–which carried Madison, Malka, Rosie, and Nishi–arrived. They were quickly followed by Jonathan’s car: Jonathan, Angella, Camille, and Josh. These 9 settled into what will be their home for the next week, anxiously awaiting the arrival of food, as they were famished after their treacherous journey.

Meanwhile, Grocery Crew spent a solid 2ish hours at the store, ensuring that they got enough protein, carbohydrates, and fatty acids to keep everyone healthy and afloat throughout this long week. Take a look at some of the goodies they acquired! 

Ellie, who ventured up from the Big Apple, soon joined the crew as well, ultimately totaling out to 15 residents of The Manor for the night. Once everyone had piled in, the fun could truly begin! A massive game of bananagrams assembled in the living room. Dinner Brigade™ began cooking up some incredible pizzas for everyone, and the group finished the night having some classic Boomshaka fun in the jacuzzi.

The tour puzzle has started out incredibly strong, with Rosie and Josh leading the efforts. The puzzle pioneers, which also included Malka, Angella, Madeline, and Ellie, got the entire edge completed, and are anxiously anticipating the chance to start filling out the middle. We will provide you with daily puzzle updates via this blog, but for now, here is our day one update. Do you think you know what the puzzle is?
